The Only Engine of Survival, Reboot, Kirk/McCoy, NC-17. Mirrorverse. Jim Trenton may have grown up on a distant colonial backwater, but that doesn’t mean he intends to stay there. As far as he’s concerned, Castius VI is nothing but a useless colony full of hopeless losers heading nowhere and doing it really fucking slowly. Well, except for Jim’s mom. She’s awesome and badass and she’s taught him everything he needs to know to take the Terran Empire by storm. Oh, and then there’s the new and surprisingly competent doctor at the local clinic. He might not be so bad either...
And Invasive Alien Parasite Makes Three, Reboot, Kirk/McCoy, NC-17. Mirrorverse, MPreg, crack.
Something That is Their Own, TOS, T'Pring/OFC, PG-13. LGBTfest Prompt 1199: # Star Trek: The Original Series, T'Pring, the reason she called challenge on Spock is that *she's* gay, and *female* homosexuality is taboo on Vulcan because it removes women from the available pool for men in a species where men will die without a monogamous life partner and most men are straight. Stonn could be a transman, a pre-transition transwoman, or just a friend she's using as cover.
Reviving Methuselah, Reboot, Kirk/Spock (Prime)/Spock, PG-13. A very old and lonely man. And a young and lonely man. We put on a pretty poor show, didn't we? - Kirk to Spock, Requiem for Methuselah. ‘Cause You’ve Got An Awfully Long Way To Go, Glee, Puck/Kurt, PG-13. “Let me get this straight,” Kurt begins, resisting the urge to laugh, “you knocked up Finn’s girlfriend and you want to apologise to him by trying to make him gay?”
This Could Be The End, RPS, Chris/Zach, NC-17. All actors make sacrifices for their art, but when Zach's personal life takes a turn for the worse, his dedication becomes something of an unhealthy obsession. Warnings: Eating disorders, depression, graphic sex, swearing, time-lapse.
a passage that sings, RPS, Chris/Zach, NC-17. The one where Chris has stupid glasses and a lot of paperbacks, Zach knows too much for his own good, there are at least two lap dances, and everybody wants to sleep with Dorothy Parker. "Quinto Mad Libs," Cho says. "My date was: mean adjective, meaner adjective, devastating five-syllable mean adjective."
Leading with my heart, Inception, Arthur/Eames, R. Arthur may be asexual, but he and Eames are in love all the same.

The Big List of K/S Cliches: Fanfic couldn't exist without cliches. Since K/S is the oldest pairing, it's got the most cliches and the longest history of using them. Some of these things are so cliche that they weren't even original the first time they were used. I believe I'm safe in stating that there isn't a K/S story that doesn't use at least a few of them.
Your Guide To Fandom Ships and New Characters That Interfere With Them: ...so they'll introduce a minor character out of nowhere. That person's entire purpose is to get romantically involved with one of the main characters and to avoid, or to delay, the ship in question from getting anywhere, and/or to add a little variation into what would otherwise be a bland string of Yet Another Misunderstanding Leads Our Heroes To Avoid Their Inevitable And Epic Lovemaking.
The Sparring Leads to Sex: What I want to do in this post is unpack the trope--"The Sparring Leads to Sex"--as a thing unto itself, and also as it relates to my writing and personal preferences. And I'd like to share recommendations for good past and potential applications of this trope.
In which Penknife gets her rant on about "canonical heterosexuality": Things that do not define a character as canonically heterosexual.
The Rape Narrative: The idea that what happened in the bathroom wasn't an attempted rape privileges Spike's viewpoint and framing of the event. Doing this emphasizes the mental breakdown and the surrounding context leading up to it. It also privileges Spike's viewpoint over Buffy's. Because while looking at Buffy's viewpoint, it's near impossible not to label it an attempted rape.
Buffy/Spike, Consent, and S6: This post is gonna lay out the instances of questionable consent in the Buffy/Spike relationship of S6. Some of these examples are often-discussed by fans. Some aren't. I want to try to analyze them, put them in context, examine the pattern and the development of their relationship through these incidents of questionable consent.
Disability in Speculative Fiction: Monsters, mutants and muggles: A combination of an impairment and the way that impairment interacts with the society you live in eg myopia is only a disability in a society without glasses. A lot of Deaf people don't see themselves as disabled, since a lack of hearing is not a big problem if everyone around you also lacks hearing and uses sign language.
Let's talk about id!fic: what the difference is between an id!fic and a fic that contains your narrative kinks (I asked myself this myself). In my mind there are two main differences between something appealing to your id and something being a narrative kink.
